Medium sized gnarled tree with large heart-shaped leaves and yellow hibiscus-like flowers fading to a burnt orange color when they fall in the evening. Widely planted along tropical coastal areas. Unlike its variegated form, it has some frost resistance. Native to the South Pacific. USDA zones 9 - 12.
