Vines and Climbers
Some of the most spectacular tropical flowers in the world are borne on vining plants which in nature rely on other shrubs and trees for support. In cultivation, they may be grown in containers, with their long stems trained in many decorative ways. In the conservatory, a collection of vines, trained along the walls and roof supports can be spectacular in flower. Even in cold winter climates, most types of tropical vines may be grown outdoors on a trellis in warm weather and then be cut back and brought indoors for the winter. Still another way to enjoy them is by training the plants on wire loops sunk into their containers, essential where growing space is limited.
