This evergreen drought resistant shrub or small tree shows off with wonderfully scented buddleja-like spikes of white flowers. The intoxicating fragrance is of an almond vanilla mixture and blooms summer through fall. The flowers are very attractive to butterflies, bees, and other pollinators. Grows to 15 feet tall with a slightly weeping habit. Leaves have a slight sandpapery texture. Best grown in full sun. Native to Argentina, Brazil, and Chile. USDA zones 9 - 11.
