Family: Balsaminaceae Large pale lilac flowers with whorls of dark green oblanceolate leaves. Sturdy grower in part or deep shade to 6 feet high. Tolerates full sun in cool coastal areas such as San Francisco, where it's commonly planted. Protect from frost. Native to eastern tropical Africa.
