Named after Gary Hammer's nursery near the Orizaba volcano in Mexico, comes this unidentified Strobilanthes landscape shrub for warm climates. Dark purplish-green leaves to 6 inches long with purple underneath. Grows 6 feet high in partial shade with plenty of moisture. Use as a purplish background shrub. Has survived light frost with no harm in USDA zone 9B. Strobilanthes species are native to Asia.
