Family: Apocynaceae This milkweed has small white flowers followed by unusual golf ball sized seed capsules. These are light green and covered by rough hairs (a real conversation piece). It's an easy fast growing perennial shrub to 6 feet high. Plant in full sun, well-drained soil. Summer blooming. The plant is a great food source for the monarch butterfly caterpillar. Tender perennial, USDA zones 8 - 10. Native to southeast Africa.
