Family: Malpighiaceae Grows 4 to 6 feet high in full sun with reddish stems and blue-green elliptic leaves. Covered in summer and fall with sprays of small bright yellow flowers, followed by orange berries. Takes heat and sun. This shrub has much to recommend, but does have brittle stems. Native to Mexico. USDA Zones 9-11; root hardy Zones 7- 8.
