Begonia 'Vista Frills'
Begonia Vista Frills

'Vista Frills' is a cross between types so it won't be exactly what you think of as rhizomatous but has more qualities in common with this group. Leaves are small dark roughly heart shaped on short fleshy lazy upright stems with very short internodes. No leaf is exactly alike but they all have a frilly appearance due to irregular spirals, clefts, serration, and folded or undulated surface. They are a bright dark green with light bronze back and a lightened edge which enhances the look. Easy to grow, makes a great basket, like the plant pictured, or a windowsill plant. Tries to grow upright but is so full growing and the stems are so succulent that it eventually bends down. Very cute, a little like a smaller Begonia 'Jagged Edge' though not as cleft or jagged. A great novelty to add to your mix of begonias. An added bonus of profuse pale pink flowers in spring. (Thompson)
