Its small to medium leaves go through color changes with the seasons from tawny brown with faint markings to black, but always with the glowing centers which give it its name. The glowing centers are usually white but also can turn red. Usually black leaves and red eyes occur around Halloween like Begonia 'Halloween Treat', but it's a much larger growing plant. Leaf surface has a satin sheen with sparse hairs. Leaves are lobed and serrated. The prominent eyes makes for an eye catching plant. Dark hot pink flowers in spring. Easy to grow and compact.
