An older small to medium leaved rhizomatous hybrid from Japan, but first time offered by Kartuz Greenhouses. It has been circulating for years but was forgotten until recently when it was rediscovered by growers. An obvious Begonia conchifolia hybrid with its prominent red eyes and roundish cupped leaves. Unlike its parent it has striking coloration of dark bronze with prominent stripes along the veins and sparse hairs. Leaves are lightly lobed and serrated. Many pink flowers in spring. Easy to grow and very compact. A charming plant to collect. (Misano)
