Begonia listada hybrid with nearly perfect listada green stripe down the center of the leaf. Unlike Begonia listada, Begonia 'Magadalene Madsen' is easy to grow, even outdoors in warm climates. Leaves are bronze/green and hairy, narrow long and pointed at both ends, though are not peltate which distinguishes it from its parent, with the green stripe along the midline and major leaf veins. Very good bloomer, mostly in the warm months with sprays of furry pink flowers. Stays compact but grows very full and quickly into a beautiful potted plant or lovely hanging basket. Does well as a windowsill plant also. This begonia has been an old favorite for many years but we are reintroducing it to make it available to new appreciators and the old who may have been looking for it. A lovely plant for any collector. (Kusler)
