Fragrant flowers are purple-blue with a corona banded purple and white. Occasionally cultivated in Mexico and Hawaii for its tasty fruit, which makes a refreshing drink. Large vine with pale green 2 to 3 lobed leaves. Native to the lowlands of southern Mexico, Central America, and northwestern South America. Needs warm tropical climate or heated conservatory to flower well. Minimum temperature of 50F.
