This is an unusual climbing primitive cactus with golden waxy leaves with a green central flame on the upper surface and rosy-red color on the reverse. Its white flowers are followed by small edible fruit. Grow in partial to full sun and allow it to partially dry out between waterings. It's frequently grown in greenhouses and as a hanging basket houseplant. Native to the West Indies, coastal northern South America, and Panama. USDA zones 9 - 11.
