Irregularly margined leaves of rich lacquered purple with zones of gray green and pink on maroon stems. One inch white flowers with purple spots are held in terminal racemes. This erect shrub grows from 2 to 3 feet in temperate climates, and 5 to 6 feet in the tropics. Plants are best in partial shade, with full sun fading the color. Minimum temperature 40F.
